Petition drive in home stretch; help land initiative on the ballot

Message:

Citizens Organized for Harm Reduction (COHR), an MPP-grant recipient, has been striving to qualify its medical marijuana initiative. COHR has gathered 9,500 signatures so far, but the group needs your help to reach its goal of between 2,500 and 4,500 additional signatures by next Tuesday, August 10, at 9:30 a.m. Impossible? No, but only if COHR gets help from every local activist—including you.

So join up with a COHR petitioning team this weekend at the Uptown Arts Festival. As with many festivals, this event offers a key signature-gathering opportunity. Each person needs to—and can—collect 100 signatures from Minneapolis voters.

COHR will pay you $2 for each valid signature that you gather.

If you live in Minneapolis but cannot gather signatures, then—at the very least—please make sure to sign the petition. And if you live outside Minneapolis, you can still gather signatures.

To get involved, please attend one of the training sessions listed below so that you can be ready to help:

 Tuesday, August 3, 4:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.: 3 E. 25th St. (Corner of 25th and Nicollet) Wednesday, August 4, 5:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.: 3 E. 25th St. (Corner of 25th and Nicollet) Thursday, August 5, 5:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.: 3 E. 25th St. (Corner of 25th and Nicollet) Friday, August 6, 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.: 3 E. 25th St. (Corner of 25th and Nicollet) Saturday, August 7, 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.: 3 E. 25th St. (Corner of 25th and Nicollet) Sunday, August 8, 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.: 3 E. 25th St. (Corner of 25th and Nicollet)

If you want to help, but you can't make these meetings, please call Jason Samuels at 612-872-0040 to make alternate arrangements.

Thank you for supporting the Marijuana Policy Project. Please pass this message on so that COHR can gather as many signatures as possible.
