Title:
Help protect medical marijuana patients in Minneapolis
Message:
MPP is assisting Citizens Organized for Harm Reduction (COHR) in placing a question on the November 2004 ballot in Minneapolis. The proposed question seeks to require the city of Minneapolis to set up a regulatory structure for providing medical marijuana to patients who receive recommendations from their physicians. If successful, this initiative could jump-start medical marijuana legislation in Minnesota.
COHR must collect 7,774 signatures by August 5 in order to get its proposal placed on the November ballot. But this goal cannot be achieved without your help. To help out, please contact COHR today.
You can reach Aaron Marcus of COHR by e-mail at amarcus@cohr.org or by phone at 612-237-1734. It will take the help of all of MPP's Minneapolis residents to get this question on the ballot.
If you are able to help out, COHR will be collecting signatures this Sunday, May 2, at the annual MayDay Festival in South Minneapolis. This will be a great opportunity to help collect signatures and to interact with members of the community. The information is below:
Where: Maria's Café, 1113 E. Franklin Ave. (just south of the Metrodome)
When: 11:30 a.m. (meeting), 12:30 p.m. (departure for Powderhorn park)
Again, even if you cannot make it this Sunday, please contact COHR by e-mail at info@cohr.org or by phone at 612-872-0040 to get involved in this unique opportunity to bring marijuana policy reform to Minneapolis. COHR will be holding weekly meetings to organize people to help put this question on the ballot. Please help COHR push the state of Minnesota toward reform on medical marijuana.
Thank you for supporting the Marijuana Policy Project. Please pass this information on so that even more voices for reform can be heard.
