Mass.: MPAA to hold training session for public testimony
Published: June 15, 2011
The first legislative hearing on this session’s medical
marijuana legislation – HB 625/SB
1161 – is quickly approaching, and we’re looking for help. A similar bill
was introduced last session, was given a hearing, but never voted on. We need
all supporters of medical marijuana to make sure their elected officials know
that there is support for this legislation by emailing
your senator and representative today!
The Joint Committee on Public Health will take testimony on
medical marijuana on June 28 at 10:00 a.m.,
in room A1 in the basement of the State House.
We encourage all supporters of medical marijuana to attend this hearing. Please
remember to respect the decorum of the legislative processes and dress
appropriately – at the very least, business professional.
Finally, we are looking for supportive patients, medical
professionals, members of the clergy, local elected officials, and other opinion
leaders who would like to testify at that hearing. The Massachusetts Patients Advocacy
Alliance will be holding a meeting and a public hearing training session at
2:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 26 at the Offices of the ACLU. If you are
interested in testifying, please attend this training session. You can RSVP
to Matt Allen, or by calling 508-410-1547.
