Mass.: Last chance to weigh in before hearing on anti-Question 2 bills

Please call the chairs of the Joint Committee on the Judiciary today!

Legislation seeking to undermine Massachusetts' new marijuana possession law or otherwise increase the penalties associated with marijuana will be heard before the Joint Committee on the Judiciary this Tuesday and we need you to call the committee chairs today in opposition to these bills.

If you have not already, please e-mail your state representative and senator and ask them to respect the will of 65% of the voters by opposing these bills.

If you are able to attend the hearing, please remember to dress professionally and treat everyone with respect. If you wish to testify or submit written testimony and would like some help, please send an e-mail to Matt Allen, deputy director of the New England Policy Advocates, at mattjallen@mac.com.

WHAT: Hearing on anti-Question 2 bills

WHEN: Tuesday, July 14, with sign-in beginning at 10:30 a.m. and hearings scheduled from 12:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

WHERE: Massachusetts State House's Gardner Auditorium, entrance located at the corner of Beacon and Park Streets in Boston.

Thank you for helping oppose bills that run contrary to what Massachusetts voters want. With your help we can put a stop to this draconian legislation before it has a chance to harm more Bay Staters. Please forward this alert to others so they, too, can take action.
