Marijuana decriminalization initiative under attack in Massachusetts!
The opponents of Question 2, the marijuana decriminalization initiative that will appear on Massachusetts' Nov. 4 ballot, have bought time on a range of local radio stations to release this outrageously deceptive radio ad, in a cynical attempt to confuse voters about Question 2 and drive down support for this commonsense measure. But, as reformers have come to expect, they don't make a single argument about what Question 2 would do.
Instead, because they lack valid arguments to counter those in favor of this modest reform, the opposition's radio ad attacks the campaign's donors and casts a wide net of spurious allegations and insinuations. The ad must be heard to be believed.
If you are outraged by this obvious and desperate ploy to dupe voters into thinking Question 2 is something it's not, please consider donating $10 or more to the Committee for Sensible Marijuana Policy (CSMP) at this crucial moment in their campaign. It's clear that the local opposition is grasping at straws and refusing to debate the issue directly, presumably because they understand they'd lose in an honest debate. So, instead, they lie.
Unfortunately, these kinds of attacks are frequently successful in causing just enough doubt in the minds of undecided voters to drive down the overall level of support. CSMP can't allow that to happen ... and the campaign is hitting back. But they need your help at this late stage to keep their TV and radio ads on the air. Please donate what you can to the campaign today so CSMP has the resources to get their message out in the face of this avalanche of false claims and innuendo.
Victory is in sight in Massachusetts, but CSMP needs your help in these final days of the campaign. Thank you for supporting MPP and all of our allies. |
