Message:
There were
a number of heroes who helped push
SB 308 through the legislature last year, but none bigger than Delegate Dan Morhaim. In addition to
being the original, comprehensive bill’s drafter and lead House sponsor, Morhaim,
the General Assembly’s only physician, worked closely with committee chairs,
medical experts, and key figures at the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene
to help enshrine in Maryland law the most significant legal protections for
Maryland’s medical marijuana patients ever.
Del.
Morhaim is also Deputy Majority Leader in the House, Chair of the Joint
Committee on Health Care Delivery and Finance, and Chair of the sub-committee
on Government Operations. We are very fortunate to have such a distinguished
legislator on our side.
Now we’re
asking you to give back. Del. Morhaim is holding a fundraiser so that he’s able
to continue to champion our issues.

We made
significant progress last year, but our goal is to pass an effective law that
protects patients from arrest and ensures access to doctor-recommended
medicine. We’ll need Del. Morhaim to get there.
