Maryland medical marijuana meeting in Annapolis on April 7

On Monday, April 7, patients and activists will gather in Annapolis to take a tour of the Statehouse and meet supportive legislators. This will be an excellent opportunity to meet other marijuana policy reformers in the state, as well as to learn more about the lobbying effort behind medical marijuana legislation.

WHAT: Meeting of patients, activists, and supportive legislators
WHEN: Monday, April 7, beginning at noon
WHERE: Offices of Alexander and Cleaver, 54 State Circle, Annapolis, MD
R.S.V.P.: If you're able to attend, please R.S.V.P. to Zane Hurst by e-mailing Zane@mpp.org or calling (202) 462-5747, ext. 119.

The Drug Policy Alliance and Americans for Safe Access have organized this event. The day will begin at noon at the lobbying offices of Alexander and Cleaver, where everyone will have lunch at the annual Sine Die cookout. Then, the group will walk to the visitor center to take a tour of the Statehouse and legislative office buildings. You will need picture identification to enter the buildings.

At 3:00 p.m., there will be a meet and greet with supportive legislators. If you are interested in attending, please contact Zane Hurst by e-mailing Zane@mpp.org or calling (202) 462-5747, ext. 119. It's important that we know who is going to attend on Monday, so we can plan accordingly.

If you can't make it at noon, but can come later in the day, we'd still like to see you and you'll be able to meet up with the group. Please just let us know that when you R.S.V.P.

Because we'll be meeting with legislators, it is important that everyone dress professionally and at least wear business casual clothes. Please don't wear clothing with pictures of marijuana plants or leaves. Also, everyone will be given a button to wear so they'll know why we're there. If you have any questions, please e-mail Zane@mpp.org.

Please pass this on to your friends and family in Maryland who may be interested in attending. Thank you for supporting the Marijuana Policy Project and our allies.
