Help MPP with one last grassroots push, and Maryland could have a medical marijuana law within weeks.

All statements from Gov. Robert Ehrlich's (R) office still indicate that the governor plans to sign H.B. 702, Maryland's medical marijuana bill. Nonetheless, angry prohibitionists from Maryland, the federal government, and all over the United States continue pressure him to veto the bill. Help MPP counteract their efforts.

Please call Gov. Ehrlich today at (410) 974-3591 and urge him to sign H.B. 702. In chorus with the voices of other compassionate Marylanders, your phone call will make a difference.

Tell Gov. Ehrlich:

"My name is . Please sign Maryland's medical marijuana bill. I have read that you support the concept of medical marijuana, and I applaud your stance. Maryland's most seriously ill residents should not face the prospect of prison for using their medicine. Please continue to be compassionate by signing H.B. 702."

You may have already called Gov. Ehrlich in the last few weeks, but please take a few minutes to call him again. Let him know where you, as a voter, stand. If we are to succeed in our efforts, we must be at least as persistent as the prohibitionists.

If signed by the governor, H.B. 702 will allow patients to use an "affirmative defense" in court. If a patient can prove that he or she used marijuana for medical purposes, a judge may impose a fine of up to $100. H.B. 702 effectively removes the threat of jail for medical marijuana patients.
