After yesterday's victory, MPP won't rest on its laurels

MPP is pleased to announce that Gov. Robert Ehrlich's (R) bill signing graced the front pages of both The Washington Post and the Baltimore Sun on May 23. In the following weeks, though, many Marylanders—and, as a result, their legislators—will have forgotten about the issue of medical marijuana. As long as medical marijuana patients still face arrest, we must keep the issue of medical marijuana alive in the Maryland media—and we need your help.

Can you spare five minutes to help MPP pave the road to total victory for Maryland's medical marijuana patients?

First, take one minute to call Gov. Ehrlich at 410-974-3591. Thank him for signing H.B. 702 and let him know that next year you want him to sign a medical marijuana bill that protects patients from arrest.

Second, please take three or four more minutes to send a letter-to-the-editor to your local paper. You can do this in three easy steps:

  1. Click here and select your favorite pre-written letter-to-the-editor. Please personalize your letter.
  2. Find the contact information for your local newspaper by clicking here.
  3. E-mail your letter to the paper. Be sure to include your address and phone number. (They won't print your contact information, but they need it to confirm that you are the letter's author.) Keep an eye out for your letter-to-the-editor and when it is published. Then let us know, and we'll post it on MPP's Web site.

Thank you for supporting MPP's efforts in Maryland. If you sent e-mails or made phone calls supporting H.B. 702, you should take pride in this victory. Your activism made a difference, and we need your help to keep fighting for Maryland's medical marijuana patients.
