Title:

Act now, committee voting Monday!

Message:

The Joint Committee on Criminal Justice and Public Safety will meet Monday, March 28 to vote on two important marijuana policy reform measures – LD 750, which would decriminalize the possession of up to six marijuana plants, and LD 754, which would increase the amount of marijuana decriminalized in Maine to five ounces. Please contact your elected officials today and urge them to support these bills.

Got 2-3 minutes? Make a call. Only have a minute? Send an e-mail.

Possession of up to 2.5 ounces of marijuana is already decriminalized in Maine, but the bills offered by Rep. Ben Chipman would improve upon the current law and make Maine the best state in the nation when it comes to marijuana policy. If passed, the bills would allow law abiding Maine residents who choose to cultivate their own marijuana to do so without fear of arrest, while freeing up law enforcement resources to combat rampant OxyContin abuse, violent crimes, and other real threats to public safety.

Please call or e-mail your elected officials and ask them to support these needed reforms, and I’ll be sure to let you know if the bills advance.

Thanks for all you do!
