Urge your legislators to introduce medical marijuana legislation in 2003
Each year, MPP hears from countless state legislators who say citizens are not interested in medical marijuana, despite overwhelming public support as noted in countless opinion polls including a November 2002 Time magazine poll that found 80 percent of Americans support medical marijuana.
Medical marijuana, they say, simply is not an important issue for the overwhelming majority of voters.
Only you can change that perception. Please take a few minutes to Take Action now. Tell your legislators to protect medical marijuana patients from arrest and prosecution. Our site will allow you to directly e-mail your state representative and state senator.
Several pre-written letters are provided for your convenience, and if you prefer, you can print out the letters and send them to legislators through regular mail. Addresses to legislators are also provided.
Louisiana's 2003 legislative session begins on March 31 and legislators are already prefiling bills, so it is important that you act soon. With your help, medical marijuana will not be left off the legislature's agenda.
Thank you for supporting the Marijuana Policy Project. Please tell others about this site, so that even more voices call out for reform.
