Iowa medical marijuana bill blocked by two senators
Senator Joe Bolkcom (D-Iowa City) has introduced S.F. 64, a medical marijuana bill, and now we need to build support for it. The bill—which will protect patients who use medical marijuana from arrest and prison—is currently being blocked from a public hearing in the Senate Judiciary Committee by co-chairs David Miller (R-Fairfield) and Keith Kreiman (D-Bloomfield).
Please take a few moments to urge Senators Miller and Kreiman to hold a hearing on this bill. State legislators truly do listen to their constituents. According to former U.S. Congressman Billy Evans (D-GA), "Legislators estimate that 10 letters from constituents represent the concerns of 10,000 citizens. Anybody who will take the time to write is voicing the fears and desires of thousands more."
