NDIANAPOLIS — Three Indianapolis police officers face federal charges of marijuana trafficking.
An indictment unsealed Tuesday morning names officers Robert B. Long, Jason P. Edwards and James Davis. It describes Long as a narcotics detective and the leader of a conspiracy to possess marijuana with the intent to distribute.
It says Long illegally seized marijuana and tipped a fourth defendant about police investigations.
Edwards is accused of illegally seizing marijuana and money, and the indictment says Davis illegally entered apartments and to steal marijuana and money.
Federal prosecutors have scheduled a news conference for Tuesday afternoon to discuss the case. It was not immediately known whether the arrested officers had defense attorneys. |
