Title:

Poll: 63% in Illinois favor medical marijuana

Message:

Last month, the Illinois Legislature failed to pass medical marijuana legislation, in large part due to fears that it was “too controversial.” Never mind that most Americans support fully legalizing even non-medical marijuana. Unsurprisingly, a poll released last week shows Illinois voters, by a margin of more than 2:1, support medical marijuana.

Ask your legislators to support medical marijuana.

If you’ve already contacted your legislators before through our site, you might think you don’t need to again. However, last year was a redistricting year, so you might live in a new district. Even if you live in the same district, your representative or senator may have lost and been replaced by someone new. The best way to know for sure is to write your elected officials now.

For the last month, Rep. Lang and other supporters have been hard at work crafting a bill they’re confident will pass in this session. That bill is nearly complete and will be debated in Springfield soon. Now is the time to ask your state representative and state senator to support medical marijuana. When you’re done, please ask a friend to do the same.
