In a 10-5 vote just minutes ago, the Senate Executive Committee gave its approval to HB 1, legislation that would make Illinois the 19th medical marijuana state. The bill now heads to the full Senate.
Urge your state senator to support House Bill 1.
This is it. After more than a decade of struggle, patients in Illinois are closer than they’ve ever been to being able to treat their symptoms without being labeled criminals. With any luck, the next time you hear from me it will be to have you ask Gov. Pat Quinn to sign the bill.
First thing’s first: tell your senator you support medical marijuana. After that, send this to friends and ask them to do the same.
