Title:

Illinois House could vote tomorrow on medical cannabis

Message:

Please contact your representative now and urge him or her to vote YES!

There has been a steady stream of good news coming out of Illinois regarding the potential for medical cannabis legislation to pass there soon. A couple weeks back, the Republican Minority Leader, Tom Cross (R–Oswego), switched positions and announced his support for the bill. Over the weekend, the Chicago Tribune editorialized in favor of the bill, making it two-for-two among the state’s largest papers. And today comes word that the Fraternal Order of Police and Illinois Chamber of Commerce have also backed off their opposition to the bill.

Most importantly, we’ve received a number of indications that HB 30, Rep. Lou Lang’s (D-Skokie) medical cannabis bill, could be called for a vote on the House floor as soon as tomorrow.

Please call or email your state representative and tell him or her to vote “yes” on HB 30.

The bill very nearly passed in January, and we’re expecting another close vote now. Let’s make sure it’s in our favor this time. Please take just two minutes to call your state representative and share your support for HB 30. If you only have one minute, use our automated system to send an email. When you’re done, feel free to forward this on to your friends, or post it on your favorite social networking sites.

Thanks for your support, and stay tuned for more.
