Title:
Ill.: Voter registration deadline is TODAY
Message:
With medical marijuana legislation so close to passing in Springfield, and decriminalization a hot topic in Chicago, it’s never been more important to have elected officials who are ready to embrace marijuana policy reform. You can help make that happen by voting for pro-reform candidates in November, but you have to be registered to vote, and today is the deadline to register.
Click here to download a voter registration form. You can also get one from your local county clerk, military recruitment office, library, or city/township offices. Fill out the form and drop it off at, or mail it to, your local county clerk. If you’re mailing it, be sure it’s postmarked today! To check your registration status or find your polling place, visit the Illinois Board of Elections website. You can also request an absentee ballot or, beginning October 22, vote early in-person. Click here to find the early voting location closest to you.
Finally, before you vote, check out our Illinois Voter Guide so you’ll know which candidates support marijuana policy reform. We’ll keep updating it as more candidates take positions, and send it around again before the election. Thanks, and remember: Election Day is Tuesday, November 6.
