Ill.: Hearing possible on medical marijuana bill next week

HB 2514 has been assigned to the Human Services Committee and is tentatively scheduled for a hearing next Wednesday, March 4. The latest the committee could hear and vote on the bill is the following week.

Please send an e-mail to your legislators today urging them to support HB 2514 and SB 1381.

After you have sent your representative an e-mail, follow up with a call and let him or her know that you support HB 2514. Please be sure to send any feedback to Nathan@mpp.org.

It is also important to generate positive news stories about this year's legislation. Using the talking points we have provided, please put together a short, personalized letter and send it to the newspaper of your choice.

You can also ask your doctor or clergy member to sign a statement of principle in support of protecting patients with serious medical conditions from being arrested for using medical marijuana.
