HAILEY (AP) — A seven-member committee will be formed in the central Idaho town of Hailey to consider marijuana laws.
The committee is the result of three voter-approved, pro-marijuana ordinances passed last year that included forming a committee.
However, city officials filed a lawsuit seeking judicial review of the ordinances, and earlier this year 5th District Judge Robert Elgee threw out an ordinance that allowed possession of up to 35 grams of marijuana use by seriously ill people with a doctor's consent.
Elgee has yet to rule on the other two ordinances.
City officials say the committee is not designed to make laws or implement policy, but will make recommendations to the city council. |
