Idaho: They’re spending your tax dollars discussing what?

Message:

This Wednesday, February 20, the Idaho Senate State Affairs Committee will meet to consider two resolutions opposing marijuana legalization. Make no mistake, this is a waste of time and taxpayer money. Neither resolution will change state or federal law. Please email your state lawmakers and ask them to oppose these ridiculous resolutions.

Senate Concurrent Resolution 112, if passed, would officially proclaim that the Idaho Legislature opposes marijuana legalization. More offensive is Senate Joint Memorial 101, which would urge the federal government to come down hard on the states of Washington and Colorado whose voters overwhelmingly voted to tax and regulate marijuana like alcohol last November. Urge your lawmakers to stop wasting your money and start respecting other states.

No bills have yet been introduced in Idaho this session to reform state marijuana policy, so these resolutions amount to nothing more than animus towards sensible reform. Ask your lawmakers to oppose these absurd resolutions!
