Title:

HI: House floor vote on medical marijuana dispensary bill tomorrow

Message:

Tomorrow, the Hawaii House of Representatives will be voting on a pilot program to allow medical marijuana dispensing in Hawaii. Please write your representative today and ask him or her to support SB 1458 in Hawaii!

SB 1458 passed the Senate in a much more comprehensive form, which would have set up three classes of licenses for a statewide dispensary system. House committees then made the bill far more restrictive. The House bill would allow for a five-year pilot program with a single dispensary. Still, SB 1458 would provide some patients with access to their medicine and would represent a real, though modest, first step toward a statewide dispensary system.

In addition, if the House passes its bill, both chambers would have to work out the differences in their bills, allowing for the possibility that the final version could more closely resemble the Senate version.

Please ask your representative to support medical marijuana dispensing today. You can also post this link to social networking sites and ask your friends and family to take action.
