HI: Final House hearing tomorrow; submit testimony in favor of regulated dispensaries

Message:

Last Friday, the House Judiciary Committee approved a very restrictive version of SB 1458, a bill that would allow medical marijuana dispensing in Hawaii. The bill, which would now set up a pilot program with a single dispensary, will be heard in House Finance Committee tomorrow. This is the last House committee for the bill, so please submit written testimony to the House Finance committee in support of this bill today!

The version of SB 1458 that the Senate passed would create three classes of licenses to allow state-regulated dispensaries and would ensure that medical marijuana patients in Hawaii have safe and reliable access to the medicine that their physicians recommend. The version up for debate in House Judiciary would only allow a much more restrictive pilot program. If passed, the House and Senate would have to work out the differences in their bills, allowing for the possibility that the final version would more closely resemble the Senate version. Please submit testimony supporting medical marijuana dispensaries today.

It is important that committee members have as much supportive testimony at their disposal as possible. Please use our talking points to submit written testimony today!
