Title:

Hearing tomorrow, submit testimony in favor of regulated dispensaries

Message:

Last week, two House committees passed a very restrictive version of SB 1458, a bill that would allow medical marijuana dispensing in Hawaii. The bill, which will now set up a pilot program with a single dispensary, will be heard in House Judiciary tomorrow. Please submit written testimony to the House Judiciary committee in support of the Senate version of this bill today!

The version of SB 1458 that the Senate passed would create three classes of licenses to allow state-regulated dispensaries, and would ensure that medical marijuana patients in Hawaii have safe and reliable access to the medicine that their physicians recommend. The version recently passed out of House committees would only allow for one dispensary on Maui and would establish a 30% tax on medical marijuana. Please submit testimony supporting the more inclusive and patient-focused Senate version today.

It is important that committee members have as much supportive testimony at their disposal as possible. Please use our talking points to submit written testimony today
