Participate in medical marijuana activism this week

Florida winds up its short legislative session this week. Although Florida citizens sent about 500 letters asking legislators to introduce a medical marijuana bill this year, no such bill was introduced.

There are still ways that you can help build support for this important issue.

If you have not already done so, please visit /FL and send your legislators an e-mail encouraging them to sign a letter that calls for immediate compassionate access for patients who need medical marijuana.

If you live in or will be visiting Tallahassee, there are two medical marijuana lobbying events this week in the State House.

On Thursday, March 21, the Florida Cannabis Action Network will host a lobby day. Volunteers will be trained on Wednesday night and given information packets for meetings with legislators on Thursday.

On Friday, March 22—the last day of the legislative session—Floridians for Medical Rights will be in the Capitol Rotunda with a display on medical marijuana just feet from Governor Jeb Bush's office. Please stop by to see and support this important work.

These activities will launch the "If Not Now, When; If Not You, Who?" campaign, a working project of FL CAN and FMR.

If you can attend, please contact Jodi James at 321-253-3673.
