Expose the lack of compassion in the state legislature

This year, hundreds of Florida residents called on their representatives in the state legislature to show compassion to seriously ill patients who need to use medical marijuana.

Legislators heard the voices for change.

Last week, marijuana policy reform groups in Florida organized an extensive lobbying campaign, meeting face-to-face with legislators and their staffs about the urgent need to change Florida's cruel and costly marijuana laws.

Legislators saw the faces of reform.

Still, the 2002 legislative session closed on Friday without any changes to Florida's marijuana laws being considered.

Legislators need to feel the groundswell of support for action.

Please visit /FL to learn how you can write a letter-to-the-editor exposing the lack of compassion in the State Capitol.

Published letters can reach thousands of voters and the legislators who represent them. Increased media coverage will mean increased pressure on elected officials to acknowledge the need for change.

Also, it is never too late to use MPP's Web site to write to your legislators, urging them to sign a medical marijuana letter to President Bush.

Thank you for all your action and support this year. Speaking out now, at the end of the session, will make marijuana reform more likely next year. Please visit /FL today.
