Last month, former talk show host Montel Williams traveled to Delaware to help garner support for medical marijuana legislation.

Williams visited to help legislators unveil Senate Bill 17, called the Delaware Medical Marijuana Act. The bill, authored by Sen. Margaret Rose Henry, D-Wilmington East, and Rep. Helene Keeley, D-Wilmington South, is the third draft of legislation originally brought forward by the lawmakers in 2009, then revised in 2010. . . .
Other legislators in the General Assembly seem more positive about the future of this version of the medical marijuana bill than previous drafts and are encouraged in part by the strict controls the legislation would place on the production and distribution of the drug. . .
Bonini added that, though he is not in favor of SB 17, he thinks the bill has a chance to pass in some form.
“I would not be surprised, unfortunately, if some measure comes through,” he said.
