Title:

How did your Del. legislators vote on SB 17?

Message:

As you likely know, with your help, patients’ courage, and the leadership of Sen. Margaret Rose Henry and Rep. Helene Keeley, we passed Delaware’s medical marijuana bill, SB 17, and Gov. Jack Markell signed it into law!

Please take a few minutes to see how your legislator voted on this important bill, and to express your gratitude or disappointment. You may also wish to write a handwritten note if your legislators voted “yes.” You can also call Gov. Markell to thank him for protecting patients at (302) 744-4101.

You can see pictures of patients, MPP, and legislators from MPP’s successful 2+ year lobbying and organizing campaign to pass this law on our Facebook page.

The Delaware Medical Marijuana Act will go into effect on July 1, and an affirmative defense for qualifying patients will be available consistently until the state starts issuing ID cards. Patients can have preliminary conversations about medical marijuana with their doctors, and if their doctors are supportive, they should request a written record of the doctor’s opinion. We will keep you informed about the affirmative defense as July 1 approaches. In the meantime, check out our SB 17 bill summary

Thanks again! Don’t forget to write your legislators.
