It's the first of its kind here in Grand Junction. A medical marijuana store will soon be open for business. Sunday night store owners and employees were putting the final touches on the herbal outlet. News 8 got an exclusive look at the new store.
Monday, licensed medical marijuana patients can start shopping for their medicine including medicated edibles, candy and marijuana. Only patients licensed by the state to use medical marijuana will be allowed inside the door.
Store owner Greg Davis says the store is there for those who need their help coping with illnesses and diseases. "I have a lot of patients who say I just want off all these pills. One day I'm feeling amazing, the other day I'm not feeling so amazing. With this, they can play with different strands and find out, that actually did work for me."
The store will be secured each night and all medicine and products will be transported by security guards to a secure undisclosed location. The center has already helped registered 143 in Mesa County as patients and they have many more to sign up.
Monday they will hold their grand opening at noon. If you'd like more information you can call 623-1669 to schedule an appointment. A doctor from Denver specializing in medicinal marijuana will be on hand to meet with potential patients. |
