Title:

Colo.: Special session begins; DUID proposal is back

Message:

Last week, the Colorado Legislature adjourned without passing SB 117, a bill introduced by Sen. Steve King that would declare anyone with five nanograms of THC per milliliter of their whole blood guilty of driving under the influence — even if the person could prove he or she was actually not impaired. The Legislature just convened a special session, and unfortunately, Sen. King and Rep. Mark Waller have reintroduced this terrible bill as HB 12S - 1005. Please email your senator and representative and ask them to oppose this bill.

Although intoxicated driving should not be tolerated, knee jerk ideas like per se limits lacking agreement among the scientific community are unethical and unnecessary. One Westword medical marijuana reviewer had nearly three times the proposed limit 15 hours after he last used marijuana, though his physician found he was “in no way incapacitated” at the time! Email your elected officials in opposition to HB 12S-1005 TODAY!

This special session is expected to be very short, so email TODAY and encourage your friends and family to do so as well!
