Ask your representative to oppose the “caregiver registry”

Published: February 17, 2011

You are receiving this e-mail because our records indicate that your representative sits on the Colorado House Appropriations Committee. HB 1043, introduced by Rep. Tom Massey, recently passed the House Judiciary Committee and is on its way to the House Appropriations Committee for a vote before going to the House floor. Please contact your representative today and ask him or her to support removing the caregiver cultivation site registry from this bill in committee.

Although the bill is generally good, one provision is worrisome. The bill contains a provision that would require primary caregivers who grow medical marijuana to register their cultivation sites and the registry numbers for every patient associated with them. Ask your representative to remove this unnecessary provision and uphold patients’ and caregivers’ right to privacy.

Help protect the privacy of your fellow Coloradoans, ask your representative to remove the caregiver registry today!
