San Francisco, Tuesday: Protest the federal crackdown on medical marijuana providers!

Published: October 20, 2011

Please join fellow medical marijuana activists in protesting the recent Department of Justice crackdown on medical marijuana providers on Tuesday, October 25!

As you no doubt are aware, the United States attorneys for California announced that they will begin aggressively targeting and raiding medical marijuana providers in California. This news comes despite assurances from then-candidate Obama that, as president, he would not waste federal resources targeting individuals acting in compliance with state medical marijuana laws.

Please consider joining fellow activists in a day of peaceful protests over this decision. President Obama will be in San Francisco for a fund-raising luncheon at the W Hotel beginning at 11:30 a.m. On Tuesday, October 25 at 10:00 a.m., Assemblymember Tom Ammiano will hold a press conference three blocks away at the Marriott Hotel. At 11:30 a.m., protesters are invited to stand at the northwest corner of 3rd and Mission St. for the president's visit.

Please pass this along to all of your friends in the Bay Area so they can join the protest as well. Please also check out our tips for what you can do to oppose federal interference, including possible slogans for your protest signs.

Thanks you for your advocacy.
