Title:

Calif.: Protest federal interference in Oakland; support Harborside and safe access

Message:

More than likely, you’ve already heard the maddening news of Harborside Health Center being targeted by U.S. Attorney Melinda Haag and the Department of Justice. If you’re as disgusted with U.S. Attorney Haag’s behavior as we are, please join other activists this Monday, July 23 at a peaceful protest to demand that President Obama cease federal enforcement actions against medical marijuana providers and recall U.S. attorneys who continue, starting with Ms. Haag. The rally will be followed by a press conference at Oaksterdam University, both held on the same day President Obama visits Oakland’s Fox Theater. The press conference will feature a variety of speakers, including Harborside’s Executive Director, Steve DeAngelo.

What: Peaceful protest to demand federal respect for state medical marijuana laws, featuring a medical marijuana patient tribunal

When: Monday, July 23, 2012. Protest at 12:00 p.m.; press conference at 1:45 p.m.

Where: Protest to originate at the Frank H. Ogawa Plaza, Oakland City Hall; press conference to follow at Oaksterdam University

Please pass this information along to your friends and family in the Oakland area and check out what else you can do to oppose federal interference with state medical marijuana laws.
