78% oppose San Diego County's lawsuit; board meeting and rally tomorrow afternoon

The pressure is mounting on the San Diego County Board of Supervisors to stop their attack on medical marijuana. Today, the San Diego Union Tribune covered the results covered the results of a Marijuana Policy Project-commissioned poll finding that an incredible 78% of county voters agree that "The San Diego County Board of Supervisors should not be spending taxpayer money suing the state to try to overturn California’s medical marijuana law."

It's time to turn it up another notch…

The public comment period of tomorrow's Board of Supervisors meeting will be the perfect opportunity to urge the supervisors to abandon their planned lawsuit challenging California's medical marijuana law and to issue medical marijuana ID cards. The public comment period will be in the afternoon session—not the morning session—which begins at 2:00 p.m. Please arrive early to fill out a form to speak. The meeting is in Room 310 (3rd Floor) at the County Administration Building, which is located at 1600 Pacific Highway in downtown San Diego.

And before the meeting, join patients, Americans for Safe Access, and other advocates to catch supervisors on their lunch break. A 12:00 noon rally will be in front of the county building at 1600 Pacific Highway.

It's not too late to persuade supervisors to reverse course, but it will take a public outcry. So if you haven't done so yet, please write each of the five supervisors using our automated system. And please pass this on to others in the county, so that together we can defend California's humane medical marijuana law.
