AZ: Employment discrimination bill headed to Senate floor; Act now!

Message:

Urge your senator to oppose H.B. 2541!

H.B. 2541, a bill that would make it easier for employers to fire medical marijuana patients, has already passed the House, two Senate committees, and has been approved by the Senate majority and minority caucuses. The bill now moves to the full Senate, where it could come up for a floor vote at any time. Please email your senator TODAY in opposition to the bill.

H.B. 2541 could possibly allow an employer to fire a medical marijuana patient based on a report alleging workplace impairment from a colleague who is “believed to be reliable.” It also would seemingly allow termination based on a positive drug test, which contradicts Proposition 203’s language explicitly protecting patients from termination without proof of workplace impairment or possession.

This bill could get a vote quickly, so please take a minute to ask your senator to oppose this legislation.

Thanks for your continued support!
