Title:

Alabama House will consider medical marijuana; take action today!

Message:

As marijuana policy reforms advance nationwide, Rep. Patricia Todd (D-Birmingham) has vowed to keep fighting for medical marijuana legislation in Alabama. Fortunately, after two bills were ignored by the legislature in 2012, this year’s medical marijuana bill, H.B. 2, has already been placed on the agenda and is being considered by the House Health Committee.

Please email your state legislators and ask for their support on H.B. 2. Tell them 18 states, plus the District of Columbia, have taken action to protect the seriously ill, and there’s no reason Alabama shouldn’t be next!

Rep. Patricia Todd (D-Birmingham), sponsor of H.B. 2, watched her bill get off to an early start when the House Health Committee considered public testimony at a preliminary hearing November 14, 2012. Supporters included a state prosecutor, Jay Fisher, who publicly outlined five myths about the issue prior to the hearing, and several patients suffering from debilitating illnesses.

It’s great to see momentum growing for a medical marijuana law in Alabama, so let’s give Rep. Todd the support her bill deserves. Again, please take action and share this alert with your friends!
