Medical Marijuana Documentary "Waiting to Inhale" Screenings Planned Feb. 20 and 21
CHICAGO, ILLINOIS — Two free screenings of the award winning medical marijuana documentary, "Waiting to Inhale," take place in the Chicago area Feb. 20 and 21, followed by panel discussions featuring the film's director, a Chicago multiple sclerosis patient, and a medical ethicist.
Feb. 20: WHEN: Wednesday, Feb. 20, 7 to 9 p.m.
WHERE: Northwestern University, Evanston, Fisk Hall, Room 217
WHO: Scheduled panelists include Jed Riffe, director of "Waiting to Inhale"; Julie Falco, a multiple sclerosis patient and Illinois Drug Education and Legislative (IDEAL) Reform board member; and Dr. Bruce Doblin, a general internist and palliative care physician and noted medical ethicist.
Feb. 21: WHEN: Thursday, Feb. 21, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
WHERE: Chicago campus, Northwestern University, Hughes Auditorium in the Lurie Building
WHO: Scheduled panelists include Riffe and Falco.
Winner of several awards, including the CINE Golden Eagle award, Worldfest Houston 2005 Gold Special Jury Award, Best Documentary 2005 New Jersey International Film Festival and winner of the Eureka! International Film Festival, "Waiting to Inhale" examines the debate over marijuana's use as medicine in the United States. The film includes interviews with patients and leading medical marijuana researchers.
