S.B. 266: A Bill Relating to the Criminal Code: Increasing Fines for Felonies, Misdemeanors, and Violations


This bill would triple the maximum fines for criminal convications.

The maximum fine for a Class C felony would go from $5,000 to $15,000. The maximum fine for a Class B felony would increase from $10,000 to $30,000. A Class A felony would increase from $20,000 to $60,000. The maximum fine for a Class C misdemeanor would go from $500 to $1,500. Maximum Class B misdemeanors' fines would increase from $1,000 to $3,000. Maximum fines for Class A misdemeanors would increase from $2,000 to $6,000. And the maximum fine for a violation would go from $200 to $600.
