Illinois Attorney General closes the book on MPP's complaint against the Drug Czar.

MPP had alleged that Drug Czar should have filed lobbying expenditure reports. On July 6, 2005, the Office of the Attorney General for the State of Illinois declared that "it will take no further action on [MPP's] complaint" against the Drug Czar. The dismissal of the complaint can be viewed online.

On February 22, 2005, MPP issued a press release notifying the public that he is required by Illinois law to register as a lobbyist by the end of the day.

MPP's action is in response to Walters' February 17 trip to Illinois, during which he lobbied the state House Human Services Committee to reject a medical marijuana bill.

Because the drug czar did not register by the statutory deadline, MPP had asked the Illinois Attorney General to investigate the matter.
