Sample Measurable Results for MPP’s Grants Program

Request for Proposals:

  • Meet with 30 state representatives to get a tax-and-regulate bill introduced in the state legislature.
  • Secure 15 co-sponsors for a bill to protect seriously and terminally ill patients from arrest and prosecution for using marijuana with the recommendation of their physician, and obtain a committee hearing in the state legislature.
  • Generate two favorable media stories each month.
  • Raise $10,000 in additional funding for the organization.
  • Increase the number of coalition members from 40 to over 200 in the district within the next year.
  • Add 1,000 people to the organization’s e-mail list.
  • Activate 50 new “grasstops” supporters by reaching out to clergy, attorneys, doctors, nurses, and other influential community leaders and ensure that all 50 contact a local, state, or federal elected official in support of marijuana policy reform.
  • Train ten medical marijuana patients to become effective media spokespeople.
  • Organize four screenings with a panel discussion of the documentary “Waiting to Inhale” with at least 100 audience members at each to engender a discussion of medical marijuana in the state.
