Medical Marijuana Patients - Mark Tucci
Once you join MPP’s team as an e-Activist, you will be assigned to a team named after a patient in a medical marijuana state. There are ten teams, and you and your fellow e-Activists will compete against other teams of e-Activists to see who can generate the most letters and calls to Congress. Below, meet some of the medical marijuana patients who are depending on your help -- and if you haven’t yet done so, make sure to join a team to end the arrest and imprisonment of people like these.
About Mark
Affliction / Illness: Multiple sclerosis Age: 49 Occupation: Retired chef
Mark Tucci lives with progressive multiple sclerosis (MS), a disease which causes a gradual loss of physical and cognitive functions. Despite having full use of only one limb (and walking -- when he can -- with a crutch), Mark has set an example of endurance and courage for his children and others who live with devastating diseases. Marijuana dulls or eliminates about 80% of the intensive muscle spasms he suffers from and helps increase his appetite. Mark and his doctors know all too well that without the use of medical marijuana, his ability to function and quality of life would be severely compromised. Mark has been an outspoken advocate, playing an important role in getting medical marijuana legislation passed in Vermont in 2004.
