At times, his legs would tremble and throb for long periods. Jim tried other medications first, but none were effective for treating his worst symptoms (and he suffered from unbearable side effects). During the two years Jim used medical marijuana, his quality of life dramatically improved. Jim says that Alaska's process for registering as a medical marijuana patient is fraught with red tape and still provides patients with no legal means for acquiring medicine.
